One of Those Days
Today was just one of those days for me. You know the ones, where everything you touch gets destroyed? I had recently finished adding new features to my link cloaker and was in the process of using a new encoder to create the installation package. I use the online demo to test out the installation before distribution so any problems can come present themselves before my customers have any issues. Sure enough, I realized there was a small problem with the new package. So, I went to the source code to fix it, and I was greeted with the “encoded” code instead of the actual source. Apparently I had mistakenly overwritten my original source code with the encoded version. Since I had not yet created a backup of the new version, I was forced to use the older version and basically rewrite all the changes I had made. So, I wasted about 4 hours this afternoon doing something that I had brought on myself. Everything is fine now, and I have multiple backups of the new source code, but I could have spent that time doing other things.
