What Are You Working For?
Have you ever noticed that many people get a job, and stay in that job until they get laid off or fired. Most of the people I know who have jobs, don’t really like them. So, why do they stay working there? It is the comfort zone. I was once a victim of this myself, but luckily have also been laid off more than once so I realized early on that no job was secure. I know it’s a big step for someone to leave a job they have been at forever. If you are still working a full time job, while hopefully trying to find ways to make passive income, try asking yourself a few questions. What would happen if you lost your job today? What if they fired you tomorrow? What would you do? Thousands of people get laid off every single day, but for many it will be a blessing in disguise. Sure, they will be scared at first but many will either find better jobs that they enjoy doing, or they will finally decide to try that business they have been thinking about for years. Do you already have an idea of what you would do, but someone else thinks that idea is stupid, or maybe they just say “You can’t do that” and they repeate it enough to convince you? I have a task that may help you. Spend ten minutes each day for a week imagining what your life would be like if you could do what you really wanted to do. Imagine that you lost your job and now had the oppurtunity to pursue whatever you wanted. How would you feel waking up each morning in this situation? Would you be a lot happier? Would you more time to spend with family or friends?
