Yahoo Opt-In Email Marketing
If you’ve been around the Internet Marketing World the past few years, no doubt you have heard time and again that the money is in the list. Well, it seems now even Yahoo is saying that to their big corporate customers. A recent Yahoo marketing article stated the following:
“Marketers who rely on Sponsored Search to generate site traffic and sales are making a smart choice but still may be missing a critical element in their quest to generate more leads. The fact is, many website visitors are simply browsing. They are clearly looking for something you offer, but are not yet ready to buy. How will you get them to come back when they are? The key is to capture anonymous website traffic by inviting visitors to opt in to your emailing list. Building a healthy opt-in list is the top priority for today’s successful marketers; in fact, 94% of U.S. marketers use or plan to use email to contact customers and/or prospects in 2006 (Forrester Research study, 2006).”
I applaud Yahoo for sharing this information, and maybe now everyone will understand how important an opt-in list really is.
